The village was once described by William Morris as ‘the most beautiful village in the Cotswolds’. The village centre clusters around a square near St. Mary’s, a Saxon church. Some of the Saxon remains inside the church are replicas as the originals are housed in the British Museum. One of the village’s main tourist spots and overlooking a water meadow and the river is Arlington Row, a group of ancient cottages with steeply pitched roofs dating back to the 16th Century.
Henry Ford thought Arlington Row was an icon of England. On a trip to the Cotswolds he tried to buy the entire row of houses to ship back to Michigan so that he could include them in Greenfield Village. Bibury has provided the backdrop for blockbuster films including Stardust and Bridget Jones’s Diary. The restaurant serves fresh trout meals. Strolling alongside the river watching the trout in their live habitat and visiting Arlington Row. Don’t miss a visit to the beautiful gardens at Barnsley House at Barnsley 3.

They cannot be removed from the surface without crumbling away. Foliose lichens are lichens with leafy lobes, which spread out in a horizontal layer over the surface. They are attached by root-like threads and can be easily removed with a knife. Fruticose lichens are shrubby forms with many branches. They can be removed from the surface by hand. There are many gradations of form in between these three main groups and a lichen may not always fit clearly into one or other of these artificial categories.
Reproduction Lichens reproduce either by tiny parts of the lichen breaking off and growing somewhere else, or by the fungal partner producing spores. Lichens may have powdery masses on their surface. These are the tiny bits of the lichen body which will be shed to form new lichens.

A hedge or hedgerow is a line of closely spaced shrubs and sometimes trees, planted and trained to form a barrier or to mark the boundary of an area, such as between neighbouring used to separate a road from adjoining fields or one field from another, and of sufficient age to incorporate larger trees, are known as hedgerows.
Hedge laying If hedges are not maintained and trimmed regularly, gaps tend to form at the base over many years. In essence, hedgelaying consists of cutting most of the way through the stem of each plant near the base, bending it over and interweaving or pleaching it between wooden stakes. This also encourages new growth from the base of each plant. Originally, the main purpose of hedgelaying was to ensure the hedge remained stock-proof. Some side branches were also removed and used as firewood.
The maintenance and laying of hedges to form an impenetrable barrier for farm animals is a skilled art. In Britain there are many local hedgelaying traditions, each with a distinct style. Hedges are still being laid today not only for aesthetic and functional purposes but also for their ecological role in helping wildlife and protecting against soil erosion. Trimmed hedges at Mission San Juan Capistrano in California An alternative to hedge laying is trimming using a tractor-mounted flail cutter or circular saw, or a hedge trimmer.
Trimming a hedge helps to promote bushy growth.
I am part Polish and Ukrainian and for centuries through the a medieval Union much of Eastern Europe was unified in a semi-democratic way. Subsequently the people suffered greatly because of its proximity to larger nationalist states. I feel sorry for people who have had so much hardship.

Mr PT “Where are you? The idea of meeting Mr PT for a dog walk had seemed like a good idea earlier, but now I wasn’t so sure. It was a gorgeous sunny day and I had decided to take a harder, hilly route after all, he’s a personal trainer but my tummy was doing little flip flops. When internet dating, I usually wait and chat to someone for at least a week before I think about meeting them, Mr PT and I had only been talking for about 24 hours. A free afternoon and his locality had led me to this impulsive point, standing on a small hill waiting for him.
My phone rang again. There’s only one path up the hill with thick woods on either side. I pushed aside my negative doubts and started walking down the hill, my dogs eyeing me quizzically as to why we were suddenly walking back to the car. As I rounded the second corner, my heart sank. Now I am not the type of person to judge someone on looks but looks do come into it somewhat, we have to have an attraction to a potential partner but the man who was approaching me was not the man in the pictures from his online profile.
Well, maybe he was if you added on at least 10 years. His profile pictures were clearly of a man in his 30s, and about 30lbs lighter. The man who approached me was certainly over 40, and his hair wasn’t even the same colour.
